I believe festive drinks deserve the same attention as meals around Christmas time (that's why I included a wicked 'Medicinal Margarita' recipe in Three Wise Women).
So I was chuffed to see the brilliant pairing of gin and Christmas pudding by Australian distillers Four Pillars this year. The drink was made by distilling juniper, cinnamon, star anise, coriander, angelica and puddings, of course, and allowing it to sit for years. Read the full story here.
I wonder if something like this could be tried at home? Has anyone done something similar before? My Granny Betty - one of the Wise Women - used to make sloe gin (from sloe berries) every year when she lived in the UK. She might have some clues. I'll keep you posted.
