Summer Cooking
It's hot and humid, few feel like cooking, but I've been inspired by these interesting recipes from across the web this week as well as my Three Wise Women Maman's Salad (I don't know when my addiction to dried cranberries will wane!)
What gorgeous little parcels to serve up for dinner
I totally get the 'one bowl food' craze, especially this time of year
How good would this be on a lazy Sunday with a refreshing ale?
I also met an interesting guy from India yesterday. He said his village regularly reaches 49°C throughout summer ("cooling" to 38°C at night) so I asked what food they eat and loved his response. Most commonly, he said, people in his town eat rice pudding ice cream and pour sweet syrup across it (I tried researching this, I imagine this is what he was talking about). Cold, fruity drinks are popular there too, as well as fresh watermelon and rockmelon.
What do you eat when the barometer goes up?
