Recipe: Maria's Sicilian Christmas Cannoli
Italian desserts have always been a mystery to me because, well, I'm a boring little Aussie/British/Irish convict... also I'm used to cooking French sweets in which the primary ingredient is almost always butter (Italians use cheeses, coffee, almonds).
So I'm excited to try this recipe for sweet Christmas Cannoli from Maria Anello of New Farm Deli & Café. I'll probably swap the glacé cherries for glacé ginger - but what a surprise addition they'll make to our festive table!
Big thanks to Maria for sharing the recipe with me when we caught up to chat for this month's Village News food column.
As the Italians say, buon natale!
